MLB: LA Dodgers 5, Cincinnati 4 (11)

CINCINNATI, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Rafael Furcal hit a solo homer in the top of the 11th inning Thursday as the Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Cincinnati Reds, 5-4.

LA's Ramon Martinez had two hits, one an RBI single in the eighth, which created a 4-4 tie. He also hit a sacrifice fly in the second.

LA's Olmedo Saenz and Jeff Kent had one RBI each.

Delwyn Young had a run and four hits, while Russell Martin had three hits for the Dodgers, who stopped a six-game losing streak.

The winner was Scott Proctor (1-0), and Takashi Saito earned his 28th save.

Cincinnati's Alex Gonzalez hit a two-run homer in the third, his 16th homer this season.

Brandon Phillips drove in a run, one run scored on Joe Beimel's seventh inning balk, while Norris Hopper and Jeff Keppinger had three hits each for the Reds, who had a three-game winning streak broken.

The loser was Victor Santos (1-4).
