Brewers release veteran pitcher Dessens

DENVER, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- The Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday released right-hander Elmer Dessens, who has played in 351 major league games during his MLB career.

Dessens was 1-1 with an ERA of 6.60 in 12 relief appearances with the Brewers this season.

He is 47-60 with five saves and an ERA of 4.44 for his career, during which he has played for Arizona, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Pittsburgh and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
