Robredo, Acasuso advance to Prokom final

SOPOT, Poland, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Two former champions battle for the crown at the clay-court Orange Prokom Open Sunday, as second-seeded Tommy Robredo and Jose Acasuso both won semifinals.

The 2001 Sopot winner Robredo defeated Frenchman Gilles Simon, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), Saturday while the 2002 winner Acasuso, of Argentina, beat Spaniard Albert Montanes, 6-1, 6-2.

Acasuso was a runner-up at the Prokom event in Poland in 2004.

Robredo and Acasuso have split their four career matches. Acasuso has won the last two, but this will be the first time the two have met on clay.
