Murton opened the ninth with a double off Myers (1-3) and went to third on a wild pitch. Ronny Cedeno and Jacque Jones both drew walks to load the bases and on a 1-0 pitch to Jason Kendall, Myers bounced the ball in front of the plate. It scooted all the way to the screen as Murton came home with the winning run.

Ryan Dempster (2-3) got the win by escaping from a bases-loaded jam in the top of the ninth.
