MLB: Minnesota 4, Cleveland 1

CLEVELAND, July 29 (UPI) -- Justin Morneau's run-scoring double capped a three-run eighth inning that torpedoed C.C. Sabathia's strong outing Sunday and Minnesota sank Cleveland 4-1.

Lew Ford homered for the Twins, who won the final two games of the series, and Mike Redmond added another RBI double to back the effort of starter Matt Garza, who gave up just one run on five hits over six innings. Garza notched a career-high 11 strikeouts but didn't figure in the win. That went to Dennys Reyes (2-1), who hurled 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief..
