Buscher, playing in his second game in the big leagues, drove in the winning run in the top of the ninth when he grounded to second as Torii Hunter raced home from third. Indians second baseman Michael Rouse tried to nail Hunter at the plate, but his throw went high off catcher Victor Martinez's glove.

Jason Tyner drove in one run for the Twins with a home run, while Justin Morneau collected the other Minnesota RBI with a base hit in the third.

Cleveland tied the game, 2-2, in the seventh on Travis Hafner's two-run homer, his 17th round-tripper of the season.

Jake Westbrook turned in a solid start for Cleveland, giving up two runs on four hits in seven innings.

Joe Borowski (2-4) was tagged with the loss in relief.
