MLB: Cincinnati 6, Milwaukee 5

CINCINNATI, July 26 (UPI) -- Javier Valentin hit an RBI single in the bottom of the tenth Thursday as the Cincinnati Reds edged Milwaukee, 6-5.

Milwaukee had a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the ninth before an RBI single by Scott Hatteberg created a 5-5 tie.

Cincinnati's Ken Griffey Jr. hit the 588th home run of his MLB career in the first, and added an RBI double in the third. Jeff Keppinger hit a two-run single in the fifth, and Griffey totaled three hits for the Reds, who won three times in the four-game series.

The winner was Jared Burton (2-1).

Milwaukee's Tony Graffanino had two RBI, one on a groundout in the fourth, and the other a solo homer in the seventh.

Corey Hart had two hits, one a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth.

Ryan Braun hit a solo homer and an RBI single for the Brewers, who have dropped four of 10.

The loser was Francisco Cordero (0-3).
