Italian Seppi early winner in Austria

KITZBUHEL, Austria, July 24 (UPI) -- Italian Andreas Seppi was among Tuesday's first-round winners at the rain-plagued, $1.1 million Austrian Open tennis tournament.

Five first-round matches were either suspended or postponed because of the weather.

Seppi, a runner-up in Gstaad just two weeks ago, beat Spaniard Feliciano Lopez 5-7, 6-0, 7-6 (7-3) and Austrian wild card Daniel Koellerer beat countryman Stefan Koubek 6-4, 6-0.

In another all-Austrian affair, Alexander Peya defeated Oliver Marach 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).

Agustin Calleri defeated Juan Ignacio Chela in last year's all-Argentine final. Calleri and his other fellow seeds received opening-round byes this week. The top seeds are Spaniard Tommy Robredo and Russian Mikhail Youzhny.
