Ginepri, Becker ousted in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS, July 24 (UPI) -- Seventh-seeded American Robby Ginepri and eighth-seeded Benjamin Becker of Germany were eliminated from the Indianapolis Tennis Championships Monday.

Michael Berrer of Germany, a quarterfinalist in Los Angeles last week, ousted Ginepri 3-6, 6-2, 6-1, while Frank Dancevic of Canada beat Becker 6-4, 6-3. Ginepri won the event in 2005.

American Sam Querrey advanced in the $575,000 tourney by defeating Frenchman Julien Benneteau 7-6 (8-6), 6-1. Russian Evgeny Korolev knocked out veteran American Justin Gimelstob 6-2, 6-4. Argentine Juan Martin del Potro beat American Amer Delic 7-5, 7-6 (7-5).

This week's top seeds are last year's runner-up and two-time champion Andy Roddick and defending titlist James Blake, who bested Roddick in last year's title match.

Roddick will play his first-round match Tuesday against fellow American Alex Kuznetsov. Blake will meet Swede Thomas Johansson.
