NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., July 22 (UPI) -- Seon Hwa Lee birdied the 17th hole Sunday for a 2 & 1 win over Ai Miyazato in the HSBC Women's World Match Play Championship final at New Rochelle, N.Y.
"I felt really great and really confident this week," said the 22nd-seeded South Korean Lee, who earned $500,000 for the victory. "This is my second win on (the LPGA) tour and it means a lot to me."
For the third straight year, a double-digit seed won the title. In 2005, 60th-seeded Marisa Baena won and last year it was 39th-seeded Brittany Lincicome.
Miyazato, who won the 2005 LPGA Tour Qualifying Tournament, was trying for her first tour crown.
