MILWAUKEE, July 21 (UPI) -- Tim Herron Saturday took the third-round lead at the PGA U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee, posting a 5-under 65 for a 12-under 198.
Herron took a one-shot lead over Tim Clark and Joe Ogilvie by making birdies on three of Saturday's last four holes.
Clark, who was paired with Herron, missed a six-foot birdie putt at the 18th while shooting a 66. He and second-round leader Ogilvie (69) were at 199.
Ten players were within five shots of Herron's lead.
Kenny Perry made a 12-foot birdie putt at the 18th hole and shot a 67 to take fourth place at 201. Perry, the 2003 champion, has seven consecutive top-15 finishes at the event.
Jeff Brehaut (65) was tied for fifth place with Charlie Wi (66) at 202. Jeff Sluman also shot 65 to join Jesper Parnevik, Steve Allan, Billy Mayfair and Jeff Maggert at 203.
