GLASGOW, Scotland, July 12 (UPI) -- Phil Mickelson was among four players who shot 6-under-par 65 and share the first-round lead at the European Tour's Scottish Open at Glasgow.
Four other golfers were tied at 5-under 66 and another eight were at 4-under 67. A total of 62 golfers were under par on the day.
"We had a great, great day to score low and we had a lot of rounds under par this morning," said Mickelson, the world's No. 3 golfer.
Mickelson turned in the only bogey among the leaders, shooting a 5 on the par-4 12th hole. However, he quickly answered with an eagle 3 on No. 13 and a birdie on 14 -- and also birdied four of his last six holes on the front nine.
Hansen had six birdies, including on four of his last five holes. Storm and Westwood each had four birdies on the front nine and two and on the back for their 6-under scores.
