Choi captures the AT&T National

BETHESDA, Md., July 8 (UPI) -- K.J. Choi Sunday shot a closing 2-under-par 68 to forge a three-shot victory at the PGA's AT&T National Golf Tournament at Bethesda, Md.

Choi finished with a total of 9-under 271 for his second win this season and sixth on the PGA Tour.

He captured the Memorial at Dublin, Ohio, this season, making him the winner at tournaments where the hosts are among the biggest names in golf -- Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.

"I'm just shocked at myself being able to win Jack and Tiger's tournament," he said. "You know, I can't really express in words what this means to me. All I can say is I just did my best."

The victory was worth $1,080,000.

Steve Stricker (70) finished second at 6-under 274. He faded after moving into a tie for the lead on the back nine.

Pat Perez (67), Jim Furyk (69) and third-round leader Stuart Appleby (76) tied for third at 3-under 277.
