BARQUISIMETO, Venezuela, July 5 (UPI) -- The United States suffered a 1-0 setback against Colombia Thursday, sending the Americans home without having earned a point in Copa America.
Jaime Castrillon scored for Colombia as the United States joined Ecuador as the only teams without a win in their three group matches.
Copa America is the regional championship for South America, and both the United States and Mexico were invited to compete. Mexico earned a quarterfinal berth in the tournament.
"In all three games, I think we had moments when we played well," U.S. Coach Bob Bradley said. "We still must be more consistent over 90 minutes in order to move to the next level."
The United States suffered a 4-1 loss against Argentina, and then fell to Paraguay, 3-1. Team USA won the CONCACAF Gold Cup two weeks ago, but took a younger team to Venezuela.
