COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 30 (UPI) -- Kei Kamara scored the game's lone goal in the 69th minute Saturday night as the Crew beat New York, 1-0, in a Major League Soccer contest at Columbus.
Kamara's second goal of the season came after a crossing pass from substitute Andy Herron, helping Columbus -- fifth in the Eastern Conference -- improve to 4-4-6 with its third straight victory.

The defensive-minded Crew allowed only one shot on goal in 90 minutes, and dropped the second-place Red Bulls to 6-4-3.
New York fell into second when Columbus and New England played to a 3-3 draw last Saturday.
Kansas City travels to D.C. United July 4, while New York is at Houston the next day.
