Roddick into Wimbledon's third round

WIMBLEDON, England, June 27 (UPI) -- Third-seeded Andy Roddick was a straight-set winner Wednesday in second-round play at Wimbledon, the England stop in tennis' Grand Slam.

Roddick's match was slightly delayed by rain but he got it in -- unlike several other seeded players. World No. 1 Roger Federer was among those not as fortunate. He was leading Juan Martin del Potro, 6-2, 7-5, 2-0, when the match was suspended until Thursday.

Janko Tipsarevic took a five-set decision from Florent Serra, 6-3, 6-2, 6-7 (3-7), 3-6, 6-2; and Fernando Verdasco took out Andreas Seppi, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
