NEW YORK, June 26 (UPI) -- Brendan Ryan homered in a two-run 11th inning Tuesday as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the New York Mets 5-3.
Ryan ended 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored for St. Louis.

Scott Spiezio and Juan Encarnacion each added two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Cardinals.
Jose Valentin drove in the tying run with two outs in the ninth and Paul Lo Duca homered for the Mets, who had a four-game win streak halted.
