MLB: Kansas City 12, LA Angels 4

LOS ANGELES, June 27 (UPI) -- Alex Gordon's three-run homer and career-high four RBI Tuesday helped Kansas City trounce the Los Angeles Angels 12-4.

Joey Gathright finished 3-for-3 with a pair of runs scored for the Royals.

Gil Meche (5-6) surrendered three runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and one walk over six frames for Kansas City. The Royals have won three straight.

Ervin Santana (5-8) was hit hard in the loss, giving up seven runs -- five earned -- on nine hits with two walks during five-plus innings.

Vladimir Guerrero had a pair of hits in defeat.
