All-Star coaches rosters filled

NEW YORK, June 21 (UPI) -- Tony La Russa and Jim Leyland, who will manage the teams at next month's Major League Baseball All-Star game, completed their coaching staffs Thursday.

La Russa, manager of the National League -- and World Series -- champion St. Louis Cardinals, selected New York Mets Manager Willie Randolph and San Francisco Giants skipper Bruce Bochy to help him with the All-Star game.

It'll be a real home game for Bochy, since the July 10 game is at San Francisco.

Leyland, who took the Detroit Tigers to the American League pennant last season, has asked managers Ron Gardenhire, of the Minnesota Twins, and Ron Washington, of the Texas Rangers, to join him on the American League bench.

La Russa and Leyland also asked their regular team coaching staffs to help with batting practice and other field duties.
