CHICAGO, June 20 (UPI) -- Jason Wood's pinch-hit three-run homer in the top of the eighth inning Wednesday helped the Florida Marlins edge the Chicago White Sox 5-4.
The homer, Wood's second of the season, wiped out a 2-1 Florida deficit.
Jeremy Hermida and Aaron Boone hit RBI doubles. Boone had two hits and Josh Willingham had a run and two hits to help the Marlins win the final two games of the three-game interleague series at Chicago's U.S. Cellular Field.
The win was the Marlins' fourth in their last 11 games.
The winner was Taylor Tankersley (4-1). Kevin Gregg recorded his 13th save.
Luis Terrero, Rob Mackowiak and Josh Fields each drove in a run; Paul Konerko smacked a solo homer in the ninth; and Jose Uribe had three hits for the White Sox -- who have lost three of their last four games.
The loser was Jon Garland (4-5).
