MLB: Colorado 10, Tampa Bay 5

DENVER, June 16 (UPI) -- Brad Hawpe had a grand slam homer in the first inning Saturday and the Colorado Rockies went on to beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 10-5.

Garrett Atkins added a two-run homer and an RBI single for the Rockies, who have won four straight and 10 of 13.

Taylor Buchholz (4-3) pitched 1 2/3 innings of one-hit ball for the win.

Jason Hirsh started for the Rockies, but was pulled after giving up five runs on six hits and four walks in 4 1/3 innings.

Willy Taveras also homered and scored twice for Colorado.

Andy Sonnanstine (1-1) allowed six hits and seven runs in five innings in the loss.

Brendan Harris was 3-for-3 with a homer and two RBI, and Carlos Pena also homered for the Devil Rays, who lost their fourth straight game.
