MLB: San Diego 6, LA Dodgers 5

SAN DIEGO, June 7 (UPI) -- Jonathan Broxton walked Russell Branyan with the bases loaded as the San Diego Padres scored five runs in the ninth Thursday night to shock the Dodgers, 6-5.

The Dodgers took a 5-1 advantage into the bottom of the ninth, but Broxton (2-2) was able to retire only one batter.

Geoff Blum reached on an infield single to start the ninth, after which a fielding error by first baseman Nomar Garciaparra put Terrmel Sledge on base. A single by Marcus Giles loaded the bases and another infield single by Paul McAnulty scored the first run of the inning.

Adrian Gonzalez delivered a ground-rule double to bring in two more runs and, after Josh Bard was intentionally walked to again load the bases, a single by Mike Cameron brought home a run and tied the game.

After Kevin Kouzmanoff struck out, Branyan walked on a 3-2 pitch to end it.
