MLB: Cincinnati 4, Cleveland 3

CINCINNATI, June 8 (UPI) -- Jeff Conine belted a two-run homer in the fourth inning Friday night to help the Cincinnati Reds edge Cleveland, 4-3.

Brandon Phillips hit a solo shot in the bottom of the first, scored twice and had two hits. Ken Griffey Jr. added a solo homer in the sixth, giving him 577 for his career for the Reds, who had only five hits, but won their second straight following a four-game losing streak.

Winner Homer Bailey (1-0), widely considered baseball's top pitching prospect, yielded two earned runs and five hits in five innings, with four walks and three strikeouts.

David Weathers recorded his 12th save of the season.

Ryan Garko hit a solo homer; Victor Martinez had one run, two hits and one RBI; and David Dellucci hit a sacrifice fly for the Indians -- who have split their last four.

Loser Cliff Lee (2-4) gave up four earned runs and four hits in six innings.
