Neither manager was around for the finish.

Colorado's Clint Hurdle, with his team trailing by two runs, was kicked out of the game by first-base umpire Larry Vanover in the eighth for arguing a check-swing strike call. Vanover ruled Ryan Spilborghs struck out on a check swing to end a bases-loaded threat.

Vanover ejected Baltimore's Sam Perlozzo in the sixth for arguing a balk call.

Steve Trachsel (5-4) got the win, giving up two runs on seven hits in six innings. Chris Ray got the last four outs for his 13th save.

Jeff Francis (5-5) surrendered four runs on seven hits in seven innings to take the loss.
