MLB: Atlanta 3, Florida 1 (1st game)

ATLANTA, June 5 (UPI) -- Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Chris Woodward had back-to-back homers in the seventh inning Tuesday to lead Atlanta to a 3-1 win over the Florida Marlins.

It was the first game of a day-night doubleheader.

Buddy Carlyle (1-1), making his second career start, allowed just one run on one hit, a home run by Aaron Boone. The right-hander got his first major league victory since 1999.

Rafael Soriano and Bob Wickman each pitched an inning of scoreless relief.

Saltalamacchia was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer for the Braves, who won for the fourth time in six games.

Sergio Mitre pitched five shutout innings for the Marlins giving up four hits and no walks. Renyel Pinto (0-3) lost the game after surrendering the consecutive homers.

Boone and Alfredo Amezaga had the only hits for Florida.
