DUBLIN, Ohio, June 1 (UPI) -- Adam Scott had 10 birdies Friday, shot a 10-under 62 and took a one-shot lead at the 36-hole mark of The Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio.
Scott -- who clustered the nine birdies in a span of 11 holes -- equaled the lowest round of his PGA Tour career.
He posted a 12-under 132 for 36 holes over the Muirfield Village course, with Rod Pampling (68) one shot back. Aaron Baddeley and Bubba Watson both shot 68 Friday and shared third place at 134.
Beginning with a 12-foot putt at the par-4 second, Scott played 11 holes in 9-under. He bogeyed the par-3 16th.
"I don't know what I can compare it to, but definitely one of my best rounds," Scott said. "This is a tough golf course when you're just playing OK. But when you're playing good, it's possible."
Tiger Woods, a three-time champion of the Jack Nicklaus-hosted tournament, settled for an even-par 72 and was at 142 in a tie for 32nd place.
The tournament lost Phil Mickelson (wrist injury) and Masters champ Zach Johnson (illness) during the opening round Thursday.
