MLB: LA Dodgers 5, Washington 0

WASHINGTON, May 30 (UPI) -- Derek Lowe scattered three hits over seven scoreless innings Wednesday as the Los Angeles Dodgers blanked Washington 5-0.

Russell Martin belted a two-run homer in the top of the sixth for Los Angeles. Rafael Furcal, Andre Ethier and Nomar Garciaparra all had RBI hits, as well, for the NL West-leading Dodgers, who have won three in a row.

Lowe (5-5) walked two batters and fanned five.

Christian Guzman had two of the Nationals' four hits. Ryan Church and Felipe Lopez collected the other two for the Nationals, who have been routed twice following last week's 5-1 road trip.

Losing pitcher Mike Bacsik (1-1) surrendered four runs -- two earned -- on six hits in six innings with one walk and one strikeout.
