Winner Randy Johnson (3-2) gave up one single in six scoreless innings with no walks and six strikeouts. Jose Valverde relieved in the bottom of the ninth and quelled a late Philadelphia rally to earn his 19th save.

In that rally, Jimmy Rollins hit a two-run triple and Pat Burrell hit an RBI single.

Burrell had two of the three hits for the Phillies, who split their last four games.

Losing pitcher Jamie Moyer (5-4) gave up four earned runs on eight hits in 7 2/3 innings.
