MLB: Tampa Bay 6, Detroit 5

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 28 (UPI) -- Elijah Dukes hit a two-run single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth Monday as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays rallied to beat Detroit, 6-5.

With Tampa Bay trailing, 5-4, Delmon Young led off the bottom of the ninth with a single off Todd Jones (1-2). Akinori Iwamura then singled, and Josh Wilson sacrificed the runners to second and third for pinch-hitter Greg Norton.

The Tigers walked Norton to load the bases for Dukes.

Edwin Jackson worked six innings, giving up three runs on eight hits, while striking out nine.

Gary Glover (2-2) pitched two scoreless innings for the win.

Gary Sheffield and Craig Monroe homered for the Tigers, who have lost four straight.
