MLB: Cleveland 5, Cincinnati 3

CLEVELAND, May 20 (UPI) -- Josh Barfield hit a key two-run double Sunday afternoon to help Cleveland beat Cincinnati, 5-3, for its second win in the three-game inter-league set.

Jhonny Peralta smacked a solo home run and had two hits, Kelly Shoppach and Casey Blake both knocked in one run, and Shoppach also had two hits for the Indians, who have won four of five overall and are tied with Detroit for first place in the AL Central Division.

Winner Paul Byrd (4-1) scattered three earned runs and nine hits over seven innings with no walks and three strikeouts.

Joe Borowski earned his 13th save of the season.

Brandon Phillips hit a solo home run, Ken Griffey, Jr. and Juan Castro hit sacrifice flies, Ryan Freel had three hits, while Scott Hatteberg added two hits for the Reds, who have dropped three of four.

Loser Aaron Harand (5-2) surrendered five earned runs and nine hits in five innings.
