SEATTLE, May 19 (UPI) -- Chris Young allowed just one run over 6 2/3 innings Friday as San Diego breezed by Seattle 8-1.
Young (5-3) struck out five and walked just one as the Padres won for the fourth time in five games.

The Padres broke the game open with a four-run eighth, during which Russell Branyan hit a three-run homer to right. Mike Cameron had doubled home a run earlier in the inning.
The loss went to Miguel Batista (3-4), who surrendered four runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings.
