MLB: Houston 6, Texas 1

HOUSTON, May 19 (UPI) -- Wandy Rodriguez gave up just one earned run on just four hits in six innings Saturday as Houston beat Texas 6-1 in inter-league play.

Rodriguez (2-3) walked two batters and struck out seven.

Lance Berkman hit a two-run single, three players drove in one run and a run scored on a double-play groundout by Brad Ausmus to account for Houston's runs. Both Craig Biggio and Hunter Pence had two hits for the Astros, who have split their last four games.

Biggio is only 30 shy of 3,000 hits for his career.

Houston scored five times in the bottom of the sixth to erase a 1-1 tie.

Texas scored its lone run on an RBI single by Nelson Cruz in the top of the sixth. Ian Kinsler had two of the six hits for the Rangers, who have lost four of five.

Losing pitcher John Koronka (0-1) was charged with three earned runs after giving up six hits and three walks in five innings. He notched two strikeouts.
