MLB: Atlanta 4, Pittsburgh 1

PITTSBURGH, May 11 (UPI) -- Andruw Jones blasted a two-run homer Friday to help Atlanta beat Pittsburgh 4-1 for its third win in a row.

Jeff Francoeur hit a solo homer among three hits. Chipper Jones also had three hits, while Scott Thorman hit an RBI double for the Braves, who have won four of five overall.

Winner Kyle Davies (1-1) gave up just one earned run and scattered even hits over seven innings. He walked two and struck out one.

Former Pirate Mike Gonzalez earned his second save of the season.

Former Brave Adam LaRoche hit a sacrifice fly and Jason Bay had a run and two hits for Pittsburgh. Ryan Doumit also had two hits for the Pirates, who have split their last four games.

Losing pitcher Zach Duke (1-4) surrendered four earned runs and nine hits in 5 2/3 innings with one walk and four strikeouts.

LaRocheand Gonzalez were part of an off-season trade.
