ATLANTA, May 8 (UPI) -- Andruw Jones knocked in the go-ahead run with an eighth-inning single Tuesday night, as the Atlanta Braves rallied to beat the San Diego Padres, 3-2.
Jones ended an 0-for-21 streak with an RBI double in the sixth inning. He also drew a walk.
Atlanta has won four of its last six games.
Anthony Lerew made his first major league start for the Braves and did not factor in the decision. Recalled from Triple-A Richmond to replace Mark Redman in the rotation, Lerew allowed two runs on two hits, with a pair of walks and seven strikeouts over six innings.
Heath Bell (0-1) suffered the loss, and his first blown save, after failing to hold a 2-1 lead in the eighth.
