MLB: Cleveland 10, Baltimore 1

BALTIMORE, May 7 (UPI) -- Fausto Carmona pitched seven innings in his return from the minors Monday as the Cleveland Indians posted a 10-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

Trot Nixon capped a four-run seventh inning for Cleveland with a two-run single. Nixon, who was 5-for-5 with four RBI Sunday, was 3-for-5 Monday.

Travis Hafner hit a grand slam in the eighth and Jhonny Peralta homered in the ninth, as Cleveland scored nine unanswered runs over the final three innings to win for the 12th time in its last 15 games.

Carmona (3-1) allowed seven hits and one unearned run to beat the Orioles for the second time this year.

Brian Roberts and Jay Payton each had two hits for the Orioles, who have lost 11 of their last 14 games. Payton drove in the lone Baltimore run.
