Reis lunged to make a one-handed save as time was running out, keeping United from posting what would have been its first victory of the season.
New England (2-1-2) scored in the opening minute of the second half when Andy Dorman converted a rebound. United (0-3-1) tied it on a penalty kick by second-half substitute Jaime Moreno.
New England's Sharlie Joseph was sent off in the 59th minute after being given a red card.
