NEW YORK, April 29 (UPI) -- Alex Cora hit a two-run homer and drove in three Sunday afternoon as the Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees, 7-4.
Manny Ramirez also hit a two-run homer; David Ortiz hit a solo blast; Julio Lugo hit a sacrifice fly; and Cora, Martinez and Ortiz all had two hits for the Red Sox -- who have won five of six against the Yankees this season and four of their last five games overall.
In five-plus innings, winner Julian Tavarez (1-2) surrendered three earned runs and three hits, with two walks and two strikeouts.
Jonathan Papelbon recorded his eighth save of the season.
Losing pitcher Chien-Ming Wang (0-2) gave up four earned runs and six hits in six innings.
