ANAHEIM, Calif., April 26 (UPI) -- Andy McDonald scored a hat trick and added an assist Wednesday as the Anaheim Ducks downed Vancouver 5-1 in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinals.
The Ducks' Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 26 saves in the victory.
Roberto Luongo allowed four goals on 31 shots for the Canucks, who will look to even the best-of-seven series in Game 2 on Friday. Luongo was pulled from the contest after Anaheim's fourth goal in favor of Dany Sabourin, who finished with five saves.
Jeff Cowan scored the Canucks' only goal.
