Rams trade draft pick for KR Dante Hall

ST. LOUIS, April 25 (UPI) -- Two-time Pro Bowl kick returner Dante Hall was obtained by the St. Louis Rams, who gave the Kansas City Chiefs a fifth-round draft choice in exchange.

Hall, 28, is one return for a touchdown from tying Eric Metcalf for second on the all-time NFL list for kick and punt returns for a score. Brian Mitchell owns the NFL record at 13.

Hall returned 53 kickoffs for a 22.8-yard average and 27 punts for an 8.9-yard average and one touchdown in 2006. The figures were just below his career averages.

"We have filled a need with one of the top players in football at his specialty, returning punts and kicks," Rams Coach Scott Linehan said Wednesday. "Dante will fit in nicely on our special teams and can be utilized as a receiver in certain situations."

The Chiefs take over St. Louis's fifth-round choice -- the 148th overall -- in this weekend's NFL draft.
