MLB: Toronto 10, Boston 3

BOSTON, April 24 (UPI) -- Vernon Wells was 4-for-5 with four runs scored and three RBI and Roy Halladay struck out 10 in eight innings Tuesday as Toronto beat Boston, 10-3.

Halladay (3-0) allowed three runs on five hits with no walks in his second start in five days against Boston. The right-hander allowed six hits and two runs in 7 1/3 innings on April 19 while getting a no-decision in a 5-3 loss to the Red Sox.

Frank Thomas and Lyle Overbay each had three RBI and Adam Lind was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and one RBI for the Blue Jays, who have won eight of their last 11 games against Boston.

Mike Lowell homered and Julio Lugo had a pair of hits and scored twice for the Red Sox, who committed four errors in the game and were outhit 15-5.

Julian Tavarez (0-2) gave up six earned runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings.
