MLB: 10, NY Yankees 8

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 23 (UPI) -- B.J. Upton had a homer and hit a three-run double Monday to lead the Tampa Bay Devils Rays to a 10-8 win over the New York Yankees.

The Devil Rays had to overcome two home runs by Alex Rodriguez, who has 14 homers in his first 18 games, the first player in major league history to do that. He also has 34 RBIs.

Rocco Baldelli also homered for Tampa, while Josh Paul had two RBI and scored two runs.

Casey Fossum (2-1) gave up six runs on 10 hits over 5 2/3 innings.

Robinson Cano also homered for New York, while Jason Giambi went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the loss.

Rookie left-hander Kei Igawa (1-1) allowed seven runs on eight hits with three walks and three strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings for the Yankees.
