MLB: Oakland 16, Texas 4

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 21 (UPI) -- Travis Buck had two hits and five RBI Friday night as the Oakland Athletics trounced the Texas Rangers, 16-4.

One of Buck's hits was a three-run double in Oakland's eight-run second inning. He also hit a two-run homer in the fourth.

Shannon Stewart hit a three-run homer, Nick Swisher hit a solo shot and Mark Ellis knocked in three runs with two doubles. Bobby Crosby had two runs, three hits and two RBI, and Milton Bradley scored three times for the Athletics, who have won four in a row.

Winner Joe Blanton (2-0) gave up three earned runs in six innings.

Kenny Lofton had three hits and one RBI, Michael Young hit a two-run double, Nelson Cruz hit an RBI double and Ian Kinsler had two runs and two hits for the Rangers, who have lost three in a row.

The loser was starter Brandon McCarthy (1-3).
