MLB: Kansas City 11, Minnesota 7

KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 21 (UPI) -- Mike Sweeney, Mark Grudzielanek and Reggie Sanders all hit home runs Friday night as the Kansas City Royals beat Minnesota, 11-7.

Sweeney had two hits and two RBI, David DeJesus had two runs and three hits, Emil Brown hit a sacrifice fly, and both Sanders and Tony Pena Jr. had a run and two hits for the Royals, who have won two in a row.

The winner was Odalis Perez (1-2).

David Riske recorded his second save of the season.

Joe Mauer had three hits and two RBI; Nick Punto had two runs, two hits and two RBI; Michael Cuddyer hit a solo homer; Mike Redmond had two runs and one hit; and Jason Bartlett hit an RBI single for the Twins, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Loser Sydney Ponson (1-2) gave up six earned runs and 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings.
