NBA: Denver 107, New Orleans 105

OKLAHOMA CITY, April 14 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points Friday night to lead the Nuggets over the New Orleans Hornets, 107-105, for Denver's eighth straight victory.

Denver used a 16-2 run to overcome a 101-90 deficit midway through the fourth quarter.

Allen Iverson had 23 points and seven assists, and Marcus Camby had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Nene Hilario had 12 points and nine rebounds, while Steve Blake added 10 points and 10 assists for the Nuggets, who are 3 1/2 games ahead of the seventh-seeded Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference playoff chase.

David West led New Orleans with 31 points and 13 rebounds, and Chris Paul had 18 points and eight assists. Rasual Butler, Marc Jackson and Bobby Jackson all scored 13 points for the Hornets, who are two games behind the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference.
