Rearick succeeds Morin as U.S. ski coach

PARK CITY, Utah, April 13 (UPI) -- Sasha Rearick has been named head coach of the U.S. men's slalom and giant slalom teams, succeeding Mike Morin who resigned.

Rearick, 31, a New York native, moves up from the Europa team for which he was head coach for the past two seasons.

Morin, head coach since the 2004 season, is leaving to become alpine director at Vermont's Stratton Mountain School, where he coached in the 1990s, U.S. Alpine Director Jesse Hunt said.
