NHL: Toronto 6, Montreal 5

TORONTO, April 7 (UPI) -- Kyle Wellwood's third-period goal Saturday night capped a 6-5 comeback win for the Toronto Maple Leafs over Montreal.

Mats Sundin had three assists for the Leafs, who still could make the Eastern Conference playoff. Tomas Kaberle had two assists and Toronto got goals from Bates Battaglia, Nik Antropov, Alex Steen, Carlo Colaiacovo and Bryan McCabe.

Andrew Raycroft was lifted after allowing four goals on 20 shots, but Jean-Sebastien Aubin allowed just one goal on six shots the rest of the way.

Michael Ryder had the hat trick and Chris Higgins had two goals for the Canadiens (43-33-6), who closed out their season with two straight losses and dropped into ninth place in the Eastern Conference. Cristobal Huet stopped 29 shots.

The Leafs tied the game at 5-5 with a goal at :58 of the third period, and then Wellwood got credit for a goal when Kaberle shot the puck between two teammates in the slot and it went into the net.
