ATLANTA, April 4 (UPI) -- Alexander Ovechkin scored twice to lead the Washington Capitals over the Atlanta Thrashers, 3-2, Wednesday.
The Capitals have now won two straight after a six-game slide.

Boyd Gordon added a goal and an assist and Brent Johnson made 30 saves for Washington.
Ilya Kovalchuk and Andy Sutton each had a goal and Kari Lehtonen made 23 saves for the Thrashers, who had won two straight coming into the contest.
