EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., April 4 (UPI) -- Bostjan Nachbar came off the bench to score 26 points Wednesday night and lead New Jersey past the Atlanta Hawks, 101-86.
New Jersey began building its comfortable victory with a 27-22 lead after the first quarter, expanded it to 52-39 at the half; and never trailed.
Its lead was 78-60 entering the fourth.
Vince Carter had 24 points and eight assists; Mikki Moore had 14 points and nine rebounds; Josh Boone had 13 points and eight rebounds; and Jason Kidd added nine points and 10 assists for the Nets, who have won four of their last five games to grab seventh place in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Salim Stoudamire scored 19 points to lead Atlanta.
Zaza Pachulia had 18 points, four assists, and four rebounds; Josh Smith had 15 points and eight rebounds; while Shelden Williams added nine points and 14 rebounds for the Hawks, who suffered their 10th straight road loss and seventh in a row overall.
