NHL: Colorado 5, Vancouver 4 (SO)

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 25 (UPI) -- Brett McLean scored the only goal in the shootout Sunday night, giving Colorado a 5-4 victory over Vancouver.

Colorado had a four-game winning streak stopped Friday night against Edmonton, but came back against the Canucks to climb within three points of Calgary for the eighth playoff position in the Western Conference.

The Avalanche overcame a two-goal deficit Sunday night. McLean brought Colorado within one with his second goal of the game late in the second period. Joe Sakic's second goal tied it midway through the third.

Vancouver had a four-game winning streak halted.
