Malik Hairston added 14 points for Oregon (29-7), one of two Pac-10 Conference teams remaining in the tournament. Wins by UCLA over Kansas and Oregon over Florida would set up a Pac-10 national semifinal in Atlanta on March 31.

UNLV was led by 15 points each from Michael Umeh and Kevin Kruger, who was playing his final game under his head coach and father Lon Kruger.

The Rebels ended the season at 30-7.
